Beginnings… In 1889, a German immigrant opened a small retail bakery in his adopted home of San Antonio, Texas. His specialty was bread. He quickly earned a reputation for flavor, freshness and consistent quality.

The Tradition Continues… In 1956, the Morris family purchased the popular bakery and today it still remains their family business. A changing world and new technologies led the family to expand their horizons. As new techniques for freezing allowed them to preserve the flavor and freshness of their products, emphasis began to shift toward frozen institutional type baking products. Today Lone Star provides a wide variety of bakery items to multi unit restaurant operators, instore bakery-delis, bakery manufacturers, and food service distributors nationwide.

Lone Star Bakery Today… Our modern baking facility is in the rural South Texas community of China Grove, just outside of San Antonio.
